Thursday Morning

I was awakened this morning - about 4:00am.
What woke me up?
It was hot in my bedroom. Considering it's the middle of winter and the night time temps are in the 40's - it seemed rather odd.
You know that stuff that goes on in your head when you just wake up and you don't really know what's going on.
I got out of bed, walked over to the vent and felt warm air coming out of it.

Put my clothes on (one huge disadvantage of living with other people - you can't just walk out in your undies into the "communal" portions of the house), went out there. Sure enough, the furnace had been turned on - and set to SEVENTY-FIVE/75 DEGREES!!

Then I saw the notice I left her last night sitting on the kitchen table.

I have given her at least - 5 notices anyway - in the last week. Last night's notice was telling her to stop having her friends knocking on Ken's window. They knock on his window to ask if Mary is there!

Whatta piece of work.

Off to work.

Ben it doesn't sound like it is working out.

My house is a balmy 67 degrees inside dring the winter and a comfortable 78 in the summer...(I'm a tightwad)...

We are currently dealing with potentially fatal cold. I usually push my inside temp down to 62 at night, but this week I am leaving it at 64 day and night. It is currently snowing.

I wonder whether the same person pushed up your heat as erased the video from your hard drive.

75?? Sauna! I'm with Bobby, it's generally set around 67-68 here. I may be the only one enjoying this heat wave here (30's) whilst the rest of the country is in single digits!!

It was 21 here in Memphis last night; supposed to hit 12 tonight. Hoping my heater will hold up to "working overtime". It's an old system...anyway, there's always the woodburning fireplace!

I set my thermastat for 24°C because any lower and the house is too cold. We have some doors and windows that need re-sealing, and even though we put a fan in the entranceway, it doesn't always help push the warm air down from the vaulted ceiling.

Well, my linked truck driver just passed the junction where I used to turn left when I took my little motor home out to be inspected near Boulder. I remember thinking how exotic the place names seemed on the sign: Denver and Cheyenne. He kept right to Cheyenne and it is dramatic how suddenly the scenery is so different. Out of the plains and into Butte country. His destination is near Salt Lake, and I wonder if he will try to push all the way or stop a third night.

Bobby: Right on - she's not working out. I also leave my thermostat set on 78 when anyone's home and around 85 or higher when no-one's here.

Fin: There are only 2 people that could have done it. Ken didn't do it - he doesn't mess with that thing. It was obviously Mary and yet another of endless notices will appear on her door.

Shannon: I didn't turn the heat on - I have only turned it on a couple of times this winter, and that for a short time to warm things up. I don't want it that hot in here during the winter, it doesn't feel good!

Benita: That's just too cold. You must ask God to turn up the heat a littler over there. Wood burning fire places are nice!

Kate: You would be surprised at how much heat is escaping out those windows/doors that need fresh sealing. The money spent on fixing it would pay for itself in a short period of time.

Anonymous: Yes, I watched the news and saw the grass-roots thing about getting signatures to have it put to vote. I did not see this, though, I didn't know our lawmakers were seriously considering passing legislation to get rid of things - and GOOD RIDDANCE to them if they do pass that bill.

Fin: Depends on his available hours of service - otherwise known as HOS. He can't push through (legally) if he has exhausted his 11 hours of driving (and other factors). The DOT takes it very seriously and they do or don't check logbooks at weigh stations - you never know.

Oh my goodness. Lady, wear some P.J.s and get more blankets! We don't have a thermostat here as it's forced air heat, but I know in the past more than 70 in the winter was TOO much. Less than 77 in the summer was TOO cold.

So I drive up to Gurdon, unload, leave, make the 1-1/2 hour drive to Eldo, pull in the yard.  I had already spoken with the manager a littl...
