Cafe World Tip 19: Cafe Slow - Updated: Windows Registry

G'day to all the chefs.
This is going to be a much shorter entry about Cafe World - and the 3rd (at least) posting I have made about the Cafe running very slowly.
First off, a recap on my other tips to speed up your computer and what might help:
1.  Defrag
2. Clear the Cache (frequently)
3. CHKDSK (check the disk)
4.  Reboot.
None of that worked today.  My cafe was running SO slowly, it was almost torturous.  I have competition in having a lot of neighbors and I want to keep ahead of all of them, having my cafe running so freakin' slow that I really can't play the game.
So, I tried restoring the registry to an earlier point a few days ago.  It worked magnificently - but didn't last.  Today, I did it again.  After doing all the rest of that stuff listed above, this was like a miracle.  My cafe was running at normal (awesome) speeds again!!
The following is how to do the operation - this is for Windows only, copied and pasted right off of Microsoft Support site (very easy to do, not time consuming, yes the computer will reboot, but definitely worth the effort if you are having problems and have tried everything else):

Manual steps to restore the registry in Windows XP

Use System Restore to undo registry changes in in Windows XP

Click Start, click Run, type %SystemRoot%\System32\Restore\Rstrui.exe, and then click OK.

On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next .

On the Select a Restore Point page, click the system checkpoint. In the On this list select the restore point area, click an entry that is named "Guided Help (Registry Backup)," and then click Next. If a System Restore message appears that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make, click OK.

On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration and then restarts the computer.

Log on to the computer. When the System Restore confirmation page appears, click OK..

The question, of course, is - WHAT date to restore it to?  I went to the furthest date back that was available - and will do that everytime now.  Yes, I will restore the thing as often as I need to, it only takes a few minutes and makes the game SO much funner to play!
I have also considered reinstalling Windows and then creating a restore point right there, at the installation date.  This would renew registry to pristine conditions.  For now, I am not going to do that - the results of restoring the registry have been so freakin' wonderful, I don't need to do that.

I have seen all over the internet sites that want you to pay them for their software to clean up the registry for you - why bother?  Just do it yourself, restore!!
