There is a feel to pasta once it is getting close - I can't even tell you what that feel is, next time I cook I will pay more attention. But pasta is finicky and over cooking it is a disaster and when he has his other soldiers over to eat with him, as they require, he wants to know how to prepare the food so that it will turn out tasting very good. I walked him through the first time, I am going to have him do it again, but the next time I will not be giving directions and see how it turns out. Obviously you don't need to watch over pasta constantly, once you know how to cook it you know when to tend to it. I will never forget the mess I made in Colorado at 9,000 feet above sea level, using the standard ten minutes needed where I learned, 20 feet above sea level.

fAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
