 So - sitting and waiting.

The group that undertakes finding a local mechanic to come out and repair trailers didn't have them come until this morning.  Cost controls I'm sure, not to mention they wouldn't have been able to find the parts in the middle of the night anyway.  Well the mechanic showed up around 8:00 am, was here an hour and left.  That was 4-1/2 hours ago.

But I'm not waiting on them to fix that trailer, that is out of my hands for once it's fixed, it goes down into Mexico.  I'm waiting on empties.  The yard people here told me "midday" today - whatever that means to them. To me it means noon, I'm guessing to them it means 3:00 pm or later.  Whatever the case, it's getting too late to make it back today - which doesn't bother me at all but if they think I"m driving all night long to get that trailer back in the yard by morning?

Well they best ask and ask nicely cause' it's not on my list of things I want to do right now.  I don't mind sleeping in the truck another night versus driving all night long.  Well, unless it's one of those rare times where I feel like I can drive as long as needed to get it over with - doesn't happen often but it does happen.

Anyway, it was what I thought it was - burned up bearings.  The actual damage isn't that bad.  The wheels and tires are good, the spindle is good, they are just going to have to replace bearings, the hub, the brake drum and the wheel lug studs.  Sounds like a lot and it will cost them, but it would have cost a lot more if the spindle had been damaged or the wheels lost.

Amazingly, the lead mechanic said this same thing happened to this trailer a few weeks ago on the other side - and the never were able to find the wheels.  They probably didn't look far enough.  I've seen truck wheels rolling off of trucks that will go for half a mile before it finally stops.

Anyway, the next door neighbor spent $450 for a crew of 3 people that spent 18 hours working on the property to clean it up.  It looks really nice.  They raked the entire back yard and carried out bags and bags and bags of leaves, branches and other stuff.  Now that they finally got that done, I feel motivated to go ahead and try cleaning the entire back yard again.  It's just been a waste of time up until now.  I also thought about digging a small canal between their property and ours - have it drain out into the creek in the back.  And the pond. I was hoping to make it back home today so I could get that pond stuff going tomorrow.

That is highly likely not going to happen.

Anyway, I guess I'll just sit here and wait patiently, lol.

Friday late-morning Typical morning when there is no work.  It was, I should say, until the new guy called.  "There's nothing wron...
