 Wednesday - afternoon

Early day today starting at 4:00 am and ending 45 minutes ago at 11:45 am. The amount of idiotic driving encountered today was absurd.  People literally don't care how big of a risk they take to get ahead of everyone else, including cutting off trucks.  Then there was the very thick fog this morning that lasted all the way until I got about an hour out from returning back to the yard.  People do not know how to drive in fog the same as they have no clue about driving in rain or snow.

Anyway, just finished a hellish run through attempting to make an appointment to get fingerprinted for Texas hazmat certification.  It's the only thing left to do.  These people charge almost $100 for the privilege.  But, I couldn't get it to accept my credentials on the fingerprinting company's website, so I called them and they said I need a service code.  I looked on my papers, there was no code on either of them.  

I then tried to find it on Texas website.  I then tried calling their main number in Austin.  YOU CANNOT SPEAK TO  A REAL PERSON THROUGH THAT PHONE NUMBER. Trust me, I tried. Okay, I could have tried longer - but I sat there and listened to it asking me over and over and over for my phone number, which I had already given on the previous call and had gotten nowhere.  THERE IS NEVER ANY OPTION GIVEN BY THIS AI ASSISTANT TO SPEAK WITH A REAL HUMAN BEING AND THERE IS NO OPTION GIVEN TO ASK FOR THE SERVICE CODE NUMBER. 

Yes, that call irritated me.  So, while this assistant repeatedly is asking me the same question, I got online and found a chat.  Yayyy! 


....NOOOOOOOO! ANOTHER AI ASSISTANT.  After endless chatter and going through the motions and asking it endlessly to connect me with a customer service rep, I finally was connected with one. I asked the same question I had been asking: what is the service code number? After several minutes of no reply at all, the person finally says: "One moment".  

And then finally?  A code appears on the screen. I immediately try it on the fingerprinting site and it works.  

The AI assistants are extremely annoying. They have a preset list of prompts that you can enter but you cannot ask them what you need to know. Stupidity.  i knew I would have to speak to a customer rep before I even called which is why I was trying everything to bypass that s***.
