Sunday mid-morning
Was awakened this morning by kids yelling, screaming, having all kinds of fun - at the expense of any adults that wanted to sleep. They know better than to do this, especially on a Sunday morning. Talk about waking up on the wrong side of the bed. I don't even know if I'm going to take them to church this morning, perhaps they should sit one out and have time to reflect on why they didn't get to go to one of their favorite things of the week to do.
However, another part of me says it's really not right to keep them from church for most any reason. I have no parental say in giving some other kind of disciplinary action out, such as them not playing their games for the entire game instead.
So, 30 minutes from leaving time I am still undecided as to what I will do.
Yesterday, however, was great. I was asked where I would like to go for my birthday treat. Uhh, well get back to me, it was still early. I thought about it for a while and settled on Outback Steak House. Haven't been there since I was there with my dad many, many years ago. I don't even remember when, more than a decade I can say. Longer than that.
It was a great meal and the staff sang an Australian version of happy birthday the restaurant clapped and shouted.
Meanwhile, been collecting rents. I mean, I'll be able to pay the electric bill and get a good chunk into the property taxes, but I had to pay myself some money just to be able to stay afloat. If I didn't have to do that, property taxes would be a breeze and so would other things such as saving money for expansion. I didn't go into business to not make money and atm, it's a necessity. Not often, but certainly enough to make a dent in the business checking account.

I decided to go ahead and take them to church, if nothing else they were being extremely apologetic. But, this happens to frequently and I'm going to have to figure out how to deal with this, I do not like being awakened on a day off AND a Sunday morning for no more reason than kids playing. It's bit ridiculous and I am not the only one in the house with that sentiment, thankfully.
My park is completely full sans that space behind the shed that was vacated to move a new trailer to one of the regular lots. That will change as of Tuesday. I have a guy coming that's been here several times now on work assignment that wants it, it's the only thing I have so i offered it to him, detailing it's behind the shed, in the dirt and only 30 amps. But I know his trailer is 30 amps so that isn't a problem.
Unless I hear from the contractor, I will be renting the tractor next time I get a full day off, preferably 2 days actually, it works out better to rent it one morning and bring it back the next. I don't have any other options and something has to be done about that thing. The only other thing I know of I could possibly do is to put a lot of weight on that setup I bought for taking out weeds for the 4 wheeler quite a while back. It has teeth on it. It's not enough weight to do anything, it needs a few hundred pounds of additional weight mounted to the top of it to be able to do anything to that driveway.
Whatever the case, I have joined some HipCamp manager's groups on Facebook. Thought had never actually occurred to me to do so or it had and I spaced it. Like, what is anyone else doing, specifically that owns an RV park and trying to get some side hustle in? I've got an area for them, I've got facilities, what else can I do? So I asked. This is what I have, what can I do better? I also asked if installing a kitchen would help? I don't know and I don't want to spend money on something that won't produce results. I could get kitchen stuff used pretty cheap and I have the outlet already installed for an electric oven and I ran a drain outlet to the outside of the shed right where I figured I would want to install a sink if I ever do this.
Now, I would have to remove some drywall to get to hot and cold water, but that's the worst of it and drilling a hole through the floor for the drain.
Am I doing that? No, not without some kind of confirmation that it's actually going to greatly increase customer base. Make me $400-$500 a month on it and I'll consider it, I really want honest feedback. We'll see.
Well, it's been a nice 2 days off and the restaurant thing yesterday was cool. Lufkin in the morning, birthday tomorrow as well, hopefully I'm not stuck all day long somewhere with some nonsense, 7 hours and I can be done, even faster if it works out.
Anyway, after this repeat customer comes back, I'll be completely full. Yes, there is room for Hipcampers, I can always make room for them, that's on the "secondary" stuff, but, I have removed that from the site because people were like "well, I know this isn't the main RV sites but do you have anything available anyway?" People expecting a premium site for half income, that isn't going to work. I may end up removing the actual RV sites from it and just doing the "alternate" site which is just a place to park and run an extension cord ot them. That's pretty much what a lot of HipCamp is.
It isn't necessarily fancy accommodations, it's just a "cool" place to park or a place to park in between places, cheap, offers what they need without getting high dollar about it.
Anyway, Appleebee's is allegedly going to offer 1,000 more of the Date Night Passes. You know, the ones that sold out in 30 seconds online when they opened it up for sale? Meaning they basically had almost none to being with? My guess it was 1,000 or less that they were offering. I heard they are going to have more through an Appleebee's employee, but they had no information on when they were going to offer them.
It did end up raining, just not near as long or heavy as they predicted, which was fine by me. It did hail for a little bit last night.
Not much else on the home front, nothing new that I've seen on the Texas/Fed "war", I'm figuring Abbott will come out with more things to do. The Supreme Court can keep knocking his actions down, but as we have seen, he keeps coming up with something new. SCOTUS can't tell Texas to stop doing something they haven't even done yet. It's unchartered waters, basically, with new methods to physically stop illegals from crossing and Federal government taking these actions to court. It's been interesting to follow all of this.
