 Saturday - evening

TBH - I slept in. It was cool/cold, I was under the covers and I was relishing in the idea of not getting up at 5:15 am for work.  I was going to go work on the sewer project but I quickly changed my mind and...didn't....get....out... of....bed...until 10:00 am! LOL!

I spent the money, I got the tickets, I'll be flying out November 24 and returning the 27th. We aren't talking an elongated stay and I didn't want one. It turns out mom isn't getting that much help from brothers.  She is relying on a service to come out and help her with meals and such.

I am appalled.  If I were living there I would be there at least every other day.  Maybe every day depending on how much the situation needs it.  It almost makes me want to move back there.  I will have to assess the situation once I get there and see if her needs are being taken care of. If they are not, I will do whatever it takes to see that they are.

I don't want to move back there, btw, nothing to do with my mom, I just don't want to live in big cities.  I can visit them, I can't live in them.

Oh and these tickets? I am tired of having my rather long legs in pain by the time even a 2-1/2 hour flight is over with. I paid the extra money to get the "Exit" row - where the middle of the cabin doors are - to have leg room.  Kick back, buy the internet and play my game.  I didn't spend anything extra on the short flight from GGG to DFK.  It's not worth it. It's amazing that they will have all of those empty seats but they will force everyone to sit all crowded together in the back of the plane.

They tell you you can move to one of those seats if you will pay more. Why on earth would I do that? It's 140 miles, I don't even think they get up there at 35,000 feet or so, they just go up and right back down. I have a 2 plus hour wait at DFK so I can stretch my legs, get a bit to eat, have a coffee and then sit on that exit row.  I'm absolutely willing and able to assist with any emergency, opening the door, getting people out and in a very timely fashion.  I can do that.  I doubt it will be needed and I hope and pray it won't be needed, but you never know.

I still watch a lot of videos from various streamers such as Captain Steeeve, Hoover - they are both obviously very knowledgeable pilots or in this case, Captain Steeve forced into retirement via FAA regulations per his age for flying commercial jetliners.  I still watch a little of Mentour Pilot with Peter - he does not pronounce it as the normal PEE ter, it's pet (like petting a dog) er.  Weird but his is from over the pond.

And I watched the movie made from Sully's miracle on the Hudson landing yesterday.  It popped up on my phone so I decided to see it again.

Anyway, I have the generator, it's in great shape.  My weight was down to 208 this morning - the lowest it's been in quite a while. The kids are still gone with the grandparents and allegedly not returning until Monday.  I am going to church in the morning, the lady of the house is gone with a friend, I just got done eating crock pot ribs I made - not bad, not bad at all - and that's about it.
